How does HRDC determine if there is a need for live-in-caregiver ?

·        The Canadian employer works irregular hours, shift work, or is on call on a regular basis.

·        The Canadian employer travels out of town and overnight on a regular basis.

·        The Canadian employer lives in a rural area not readily accessible by public transit.

How much does the HRDC application cost?

·        There is no fee to apply to HRDC to assess an application for a foreign live-in caregiver.

What is the HRDC processing time?

·        The standard processing time in Ontario is 15 working days from the receipt of a properly completed application. We have received HRDC approval within as little as 5 working days.
