Because
there is a shortage of Canadians willing to provide
live-in caregiver services, the Canadian government
has authorized a limited number of foreign live-in-caregivers
to accept offers of employment from Canadian families
who have been unable to locate a Canadian live-in-caregiver.
The live-in caregiver program exists because:
| |
There
is a labor market need within Canada for live-in
caregivers
There
is a shortage of Canadians to fill these positions
|
A live-in
caregiver under this Program is a person who is qualified
to provide continuous, full-time, unsupervised care
in a single private household for:
| |
Children
The
elderly, or
Persons
who have disabilities
